Good Mornings for a Monday (January 14)

A few things I said “Good Morning” to on this Monday…

Sewing Notions

Crafting notions procured for a few projects this week.

We have some friends from the US arriving tonight, and staying with us for a few days.  One of the projects is for our guest bathroom.  I guess I’d better get started!

Coffee and Moka pot

We love our Moka pot.

I talked to my sister until nearly 2 AM yesterday.  It was wonderful to catch up with her, but this morning’s alarm was a little brutal.

Fishy PJs PantsPlease don’t ask me the vintage of these PJ shorts.

The fishie faces still crack me up, after all these years.  And who doesn’t need a giggle on a Monday morning?  Although, I suppose it’s time to get moving, and into some proper clothes.

Thanks for stopping by, Cait! Yep, we love that little guy – added bonus is that it keeps us from consuming *tooooo* much coffee! [Except on the days we might…miiiiight…make a second pot. 😉 ]

Hope you enjoy every minute (even the ones when they’re driving you crazy!) with your family!

Not to be “that guy” but do you worry about the moka pot leaching aluminum into your coffee? I suppose you don’t, but I have been wanting one for awhile and keep reading “IT WILL POISON YOU.” I don’t know how much of that is fear-mongering. Anyway…

The other question is …do you have a guest bathroom and not a guest bedroom? I guess I am confused as to how big a bathroom could be that it could fit a bed in part of it.

Legit question, but I don’t pay much mind to aluminum fears. I use stuff that comes out of aluminum cans, and I wrap leftovers in aluminum foil, and who knows what’s in stainless steel anyway? We never noticed a metallic taste, and now our pot is pretty well seasoned. All coffee aficionados have a favorite method, so I can’t swear this is the solution for everyone: But we love it. KMN likes really strong espresso-like coffee. I like my coffee with lots of milk, but not super thinned out (like drip coffee + lots of milk gets) – more latte style. The moka pot’s product works great for both of us. Heck, I live on the wild side and sometimes drink the last bit in the afternoon, after it’s sat in the pot for 6 hours… I’m counting on something else killing me before the aluminum. 🙂

Funny story. We have a guest bedroom, with a guest bathroom. The “master bedroom” in our apartment is actually the smallest bedroom, area-wise, so we made it the guest room. So guests have their own bathroom. We stay in a larger room that’s about half a step from another bathroom. And there’s a third, half-bath as well. I’ve never lived anywhere that bathrooms outnumbered residents before.
